FOREIGN AFFAIRS:
Q. Will you commit to defend this country and go after
those who might do us harm? If so, how many countries does this include and how
do you propose to fund this?
I am 100% committed to defending America.
Since the founding of The United States, we have owed the freedoms we enjoy
almost entirely to the diligence, selflessness and fortitude of our Military.
For me this was a very moving Fourth of July week-end as I attended service at
an exceedingly Patriotic church in Fort Walton Beach, Fl ~ The First Baptist
Church, Pastored by Dr. Howard L. Gates since 1987. I was overcome by the
Patriotic Hymns, Pledges and Words ~ of the choir, clergy and parishioners at
the service. I was stunned when, upon being asked to rise, service by service
and rank by rank – perhaps fully 20% of those present proved to be military!
The offering was taken up by men in full dress uniform who were just serving
America in a different capacity! (See the photos, hear the music on my web-site:

And it was exactly the same at the VFW dance that Saturday night: There was
an honor guard of cadets; and Joe sitting across from me who I see almost every
week, wore his cap attesting to service in THREE foreign wars! At another event
I met a gentleman who’d served in four branches of the military!
God bless them all, AND my neighbor Mike ~ coming up on 20 years in the Air
Force ~ who invited my wife and I over to his Independence-Day Picnic, with
dozens of the servicemen in his squadron!
So the answer to the question is simple: FULLY FUND OUR MILITARY.
AND let us free them from ‘politically correct’ restrictions on
combat targets. It is ridiculous that they are now being given medals for
‘Restraint’. If we want to nation-build, let’s send Hillary and a bunch of civil
servants. If we want to win wars honorably, let’s send our Military to do what
they are trained to do: "BREAK THINGS & KILL OUR
ENEMIES!"
Get the money out of earmarks, teacher raises, Congressional benefits and a
host of other "Budget Theft" pockets to pay the bill! National Security is one
of the few Constitutionally authorized areas that the federal government is
entitled to operate. Get them out of our states’ rights, balance the budget,
fund the Military and dispatch our enemies!
Speaking of which, who are they, Our Enemies?: The list seems never-ending,
but let’s mention some important ones: Russia, Iran (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad & The
Mullahs mostly), N. Korea, China, Radical Islam, The Taliban, Radical
Palestinians including especially Hamas; Hezbolla & much of Lebanon; Syria;
Venezuela (Chavez mainly), Cuba, Mexican Drug Cartels – and the list goes on.
(Did anyone forget Osama bin Laden? And we clearly don’t have a lot of friends
in either Pakistan nor in the U.N. for that matter).
Obviously we are not going to attack China militarily at this time (but see
below). And it will be helpful in dealing with the U.N. to keep them in N.Y.
where we can watch them while concurrently defunding their operations. But we
should support Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israelis in doing the
military job for us against Iran; we need to personally, militarily, take out
many more of those opposing us in Iraq & Afghanistan; and we need to clean up
the Pakistani border areas harboring the likes of bin Laden. We need to take a
lesson from the Russians and embower our spies around the world to work against
Chavez, Raúl Castro, Kim Jong-il & Ahmadinejad. It’s a crime that Obama didn’t
support the Iranian Freedom-Fighters; and I believe N. Korea is currently at a
potential tipping-point (with the impending demise of Kim) which we need to be
ready to opportunistically deal with – either militarily in concert with S.
Korea (can you believe we put up with the sinking of that S. Korean warship?) or
by "covertly" supporting an impending popular Freedom-Uprising in The North.
Let’s also defend Taiwan; face up to Red China and re-arm our self to the
teeth rather than seeking to pacify the Russians with promises of nuclear arms
reduction!
