WASHINGTON D.C. HEALTH-CARE PROTEST 3/20-21/2010

3/20/10 ~ PM: I attended a tremendous (and peaceful) rally at The
Capitol today! Preliminary reports suggest that about 25,000 demonstrators were present,
which was awesome considering the time-frame. Folks, this was a
POWERFUL
demonstration of our resistance! (Keep your fingers crossed &
pray real hard).
NOTE: The president didn't have the guts to come on over to The
Congress for his final sales-pitch ... until after most of us had left!
(I also note later allegations of crude behavior inside the Congress by some
'protestors'. But I sure didn't see any of that. Take it from me - The crowd I
was with was a well-behaved, disciplined army of patriots! I wonder if these
scabs could nave been a bunch of plants used in an attempt to discredit our
movement?)

3/20/10 ~ 9:30 AM in D.C. The baggage arrived overnight. So I've got all my
stuff. I don't know how I'm gonna carry the rather large sign AND the
boom-box; plus some literature. But we'll make it work. My wife phoned and said
there might be a fight on the mall (The SEIU's coming?). Bring it on
Bubba! Those John Philip Sousa/ Marine Band Marches sounds like great
fighting music to me!
More later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill.

3/19/10 ~ Marriott Hotel, D.C., 11PM: Well folks, Here I am. As promised in my
e-mail this morning I set out ("God Willing") for our protest
demonstration in D.C. against passage of ObamaCare. Delta lost my baggage as
usual, but I finally made it with my briefcase, camera, stethoscope, suit, tie &
debit card! What more does a guy need for a protest?
And I discovered the protest signs safely delivered to the
hotel when I arrived. THERE THEY ARE!! As you can see above, the sign maker
didn't fail us!
More tomorrow: I'm planning to meet-up with the Tea-Party protest on Capitol
Hill - West of The Capitol at noon - and we'll go from there! (Internet not
currently working so I'll contact you later).
3/19/10 AM ~ While reviewing the news headlines late Thursday, 3/18/10, I
began to understand that the Health-Care Vote would probably happen Sunday,
3/21/10. I went to sleep troubled by vague notions of heading to D.C., and slept
poorly. Early next morning I began to check Orbitz, (and my wife to see if she
was awake; because we had other important plans for the week-end). By the time she
returned to Earth, I had the data. But I must confess that at first I didn't really want to go.
It seemed so hopeless. Then I thought of
Washington's Men - They probably didn't want to go either. And
they didn't even have shoes! I guess that's what duty's all about. Finally I thought of our Military,
and the un-rewarded sacrifices they routinely make for us.
I had to be there!
I checked the price. It was $1775.16 total for the return flight plus hotel.
That's an unusual number I thought. Something familiar there ... but what was
it?
My goodness, just shy of 1776 ... The date of The Revolution.
Well actually it was 1775 AND CHANGE. I bet you the people in 1775 were feeling
about the same as you and I are right now ... just before THE CHANGE in 1776.
SPOOKY! This
was waay too coincidental. There's a message here, I thought. I've gotta go!
At that point my wife cleared me for 'take-off', I bought the tickets and it became one mad rush!
So many things to pack, plus I had to record my John Philip Sousa patriotic
music for my boom box; and make arrangements for a rental car and some other
stuff for my wife on her trip. And what about a sign? The
last time I took a couple of those to D.C. it was in the back of my SUV and
Clinton was impeached 3 days later! (Those signs read: "In America The Law is
King!" ... Thomas Paine; and: "Save The Constitution; Impeach the President!").
But I couldn't take this one by car. A thousand miles was too far in the
timeframe. So, on-line one more time, I ordered the signs from a D.C. sign maker
... and "Jake" promised faithfully to deliver to the hotel. On my wife's advice
I called him back and changed a possibly threatening-sounding message. (I guess
I shouldn't say: "GOODBYE TRAITOR!" Gotta be careful here:
a few weeks ago, while calling Harry Reid to object to the Health-Care bill, I
suggested that - considering the piece of manure that he really was - we should
"Wipe him off the backside of America." Next thing I know, the FBI calls my
office and threatens to come on over and "handcuff" me if I phone him again!
This is not America folks).
God Bless,
Bill
