This could Be the very best
event we’ve attended so Far!
If the hugs & applause we received are an index of how much folks liked the
message, this was NUMBER ONE! (Les said it was the best speech I’ve given to
date and the crowd clapped & hollered their approval)
O f
course I just love these patriotic military crowds, and here we were at The VFW
among all the military heroes of America’s past. (See the photo below of 90-some
year old Arthur "Art" Westbury who served in both the Pacific & Atlantic during
WWII, with his wife of 68 years, Miss Elvira! And that’s their daughter, Nancy
Bell – running for local office – beside Elvira.)
We were able to convey greetings from the VFW post in FWB where my wife is a
member and where we go to dance almost every Saturday night that we are in town.
Many of the folks in Chiefland knew the FWB VFW Commander, Gene Carroll and sent
"Hello" for him!
What a lovely experience of the HEART & SOUL of AMERICA ... SMALL TOWN
